There are certain situations in which we may share access to your Personal Information without your explicit consent. For example, if required by law, to protect the life of an individual, or to comply with any valid legal process, government request, rule or regulation. Don’t forget, that whenever you provide us with your Personal Information we will tell you explicitly who we will share that data with.
Why do we share data outside of the EU?
We may transfer personal data to a country outside of the European Economic Area (‘EEA’), for example if a third party we share information with has servers outside of the EEA. If this is the case we will ensure to have gained your consent or made sure that the transfer is legal and your data is secure by following the EU’s guidelines.
How do we keep your Personal Information secure?
PORT follow industry best practice to ensure that your data is secure and cannot fall into the wrong hands. We use PORT to handle the Personal Information we hold. PORT uses advanced and robust hardware and software encryption along with optional two-factor authentication (2FA) to safeguard your information. These measures are similar to the security processes used by many banks.
PORT also follow industry standards on information security management. This means we don’t just secure your data technologically but we make sure that everyone who works for us and the processes they follow are continually monitored to ensure there are no vulnerabilities. We currently comply to ISO27001 standards and are working towards certification.
In the unlikely event of a criminal breach of our security we will inform the relevant regulatory body within 24 hours and, if your Personal Information were involved in the breach, we would also inform you.
Where we hold your Personal Information we make sure to give you access to it through your PORT account, as well as the ability to edit, revoke consents, query our use of, PORT, restrict our use of, be forgotten or just ask questions about how we use it.
We are open and transparent about our use of data so if you are unclear about how we use data or think we could improve how we deal with Personal Information, let us know!
